A Fine Reel Gets A Bath
A buddy of mine bought an absolutely spectacular reel …a marbleized Philbrook & Paine salmon reel. But, as you can see, it sorely needed a bath. The reel was in excellent condition, but was positively filthy. So, he sent it to me and I spent a few hours giving it the spa treatment …being very careful to retain its “old” look by doing all of the work by hand and only cleaning the reel, not polishing or restoring it. Just say “no” to polishing old reels.
