Recent Additions
In my 45 years of collecting tackle there have been months when I made several additions to the collection of whatever type of tackle I was collecting at the time and there have been times when I have gone several months without adding a single thing. With that in mind, here are my “recent” additions …which may have been acquired yesterday or several months ago. When it comes to collecting, “recent” has a lot of latitude.

The Box Is For A Julius vom Hofe Model 95.

Perforations Were Added In 1913, Creating The Version Collectors Refer To As The “Perforated” Reel.

The Lakes Of Bishop California Are Known For Their Superb Rainbow Trout Fishing.
This Tiny Rainbow Club Pin Is Only 1/2″ In Diameter.

I Wonder If The Mentioned “Mr. Moffat” Instituted The Moffat Handicap Cup

The Reel Has Aluminum Plates And Nickel Silver Hardware. While The Reel Most Resembles The Design Of NY Makers, The Foot Is Held With Screws, Which Is More Typical Of KY Makers

The Craigneuk Angling Club Was Located In Scotland And Founded In The Late 1800s.
This Sterling Silver Medal Is 2-5/8″ In Diameter, Which Is Larger Than Many Of The Reels I Collect.

In Scotland A “Provost” Is The Equivalent Of A Mayor In The United States. Provost George Stalker (1850-1924) Was First Elected To Town Council In 1899, And Became President Of The Craigneuk Angling Club In 1902.
Stalker’s Obituary Declared Him “A Skillful Angler”. He Was Also A Noted Conservationist.
Perhaps Provost Stalker Presented This Medal To The Craigneuk Angling Club For Their Noted Efforts To Protect Local Waters.
