Recent Additions

 

In my 45 years of collecting tackle there have been months when I made several additions to the collection of whatever type of tackle I was collecting at the time and there have been times when I have gone several months without adding a single thing. With that in mind, here are my “recent” additions …which may have been acquired yesterday or several months ago. When it comes to collecting, “recent” has a lot of latitude.

The Craigneuk Angling Club Was Located In Scotland And Founded In The Late 1800s. This Sterling Silver Medal Is 2-5/8" In Diameter, Which Is Larger Than Many Of The Reels I Collect.

In Scotland A "Provost" Is The Equivalent Of A Mayor In The United States. Provost George Stalker (1850-1924) Was First Elected To Town Council In 1899, And Became President Of The Craigneuk Angling Club In 1902. Stalker's Obituary Declared Him "A Skillful Angler". He Was Also A Noted Conservationist. Perhaps Provost Stalker Presented This Medal To The Craigneuk Angling Club For Their Noted Efforts To Protect Local Waters.
